Kirin (麒麟) Creature Concept Art

In 2021, I plan to march steadily towards more creature concept art. Kirins are some of the most magical creatures, and what better way to start the journey?

Kirin (or Qilin) are depicted in a variety of styles. Some look more like a Chinese dragon, while others have features that are deer-like. Some have feathers while others have scales.

They can be a large variety of colors, but are most often golden.

They are gentle-hearted. Life is precious to them, so they often walk on water to avoid harming the grass.

Although they come in some many variations, Kirins always have cloven feet, antlers, and a large mane and beard that drift upward.
